For Mommy's Mammaries
My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer February 7, 2019. You never think this kind of thing will happen to someone you love, and I definitely never thought this would happen to MY mom. She has always been someone that is on the go, a care taker for others, and our family’s number one fan.
It seemed as if the day she was diagnosed, everything went down hill... fast.
Seeing my mom tackle all of this has been such an inspiration! Through a double mastectomy, 14 rounds of chemo, expanders, countless doctor appointments, sickness, pain, exhaustion, and more, she still maintains a positive attitude and will not let it defeat her. She still has radiation, reconstruction, medications, and possibly an ovary removal surgery ahead of her.
She can't take care of others like she used to and wants to do, although she pushes herself to try. She can't run around with her grandson. She has to miss my sister’s college soccer games because it is too difficult to get through the long day.
But she CAN inspire others from her struggle and fight. She CAN show the people she loves what it takes to be a strong woman that can defeat a terrible situation. She CAN and WILL beat this.
I cannot wait for all of this to be past us so she can get back to being the mama I know and love!
Now I am asking my family and friends to help support her and others like her, by raising money for the Miracle Mile Walk. My personal goal is to raise $500! I would truly appreciate any donations to help go towards this awesome event!
Even if you can't walk with me, you can support me in every step of the way by donating to my page!
I also encourage you to sign up and get in on the fun and join us for the walk on OCTOBER 19, downtown Augusta at 8 a.m!
